Spectral Ornithology was a site specific installation and intervention for Assemblage Theories ‘Circling the Compass’ outdoor exhibition in Royal Park Melbourne 2020. The work explored the hauntological landscape of Melbourne/Naarm through archived and manipulated recordings of locally extinct and threatened bird species played out over speakers. The act emulated an illegal outdoor rave and created a space for more than human inhabitants of the area.
